I was flying from Phoenix to Detroit the other day on Delta Airlines and decided to check out the prices for in flight Wifi. I feel like the prices have actually gone up since this service became available. I believe the biggest company offering this service (and perhaps the only one?) is Gogo. My flight was close to 4 hours. Here is how much they wanted to charge me to get online on this particular flight:
All day: $30
This flight: $20
30 min: $5.50
I would personally pay $4 per flight to get online. I’m not paying $20 – unless my company is willing to reimburse me. If you want to read why it’s so expensive check out this interview from Forbes with Michael Small, Gogo’s CEO.
